Kingross Quilts and Fibre Art ...

is the studio of international award winning artist Anne Morrell Robinson. It is located in the Big Intervale, historically known as Kingross, and overlooking the Margaree River in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The studio is open year round by appointment or chance and has an ever changing supply of fine quilts, primitive hooked rugs, painted floor cloths, wearable art, and dolls available for purchase. A classroom is available for small retreats, private or group instruction.

About the artist:

Anne has been making quilts since 1971 and has made over 500 to date. Many have been commissioned for both public places and private homes. Her speciality is applique quilts with nature being a strong element. Traditional patterns often blend together with original designs in each unique piece. Her hooked rugs are done in the wide cut primitive technique and feature original designs with a hint of whimsy and humor. Clothing, floor cloths and dolls are constructed when the artist is in need of some “play time”. Anne also likes to share her passion for the fibre arts with others and travels to national conferences, guilds or schools to teach. She designs her own patterns, which have been published in books and magazines or to use in her classes.
